In emergency veterinary medicine, every life saved is thanks to a veterinary health care professional. Every urgent diagnosis made is thanks to an astute and thorough team member. Every successfully treated toxicity, gastrointestinal blockage, and trauma is thanks to a team of veterinarians, technicians, assistants, managers, and client care representatives working together to ensure the health and well-being of every patient that comes through the hospital’s doors.

At Urgent Pet Care Omaha, your pet’s health and happiness are our top priorities. To ensure every pet receives the best care and every pet owner receives top-notch service, we’ve worked hard to build a team consisting of the most talented, qualified, and passionate veterinary health care professionals possible. Here, meet the two newest veterinarians to join our team.

Dr. Haley Holbrook

Where she grew up:

Dr. Holbrook grew up in the small community of Corning, Iowa.

Why she loves veterinary medicine:

“I discovered my passion for emergency veterinary medicine while I was in school and was working at an emergency veterinary hospital in Des Moines. Emergencies are one of the most stressful and scariest times a pet owner can go through with a pet. I feel privileged to provide both guidance and comfort during those times.”

Where she went to school:

A graduate of Iowa State University, Dr. Holbrook earned her bachelor’s degree in animal ecology in 2015 and her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2019.

What she loves outside of work:

  • Reading with her cat, Pippin, curled up in her lap
  • Walking with her dog, Gus
  • Playing board games and attending trivia nights with her significant other, Aaron
  • Traveling (she’s had the opportunity to visit Spain, Canada, Washington D.C., and multiple U.S. states)

Her favorite foods:

Dark chocolate, pasta, and grapes

Her biggest fear:

The ocean

Dr. Kayla Staley

Dr. Staley grew up on a fourth-generation family farm outside St. Louis, Missouri.

Why she loves veterinary medicine:

“I became a veterinarian to promote the health and welfare of my patients. I love teaching owners and learning from their pets. I enjoy the schedule, cases, and unpredictability of emergency medicine, and I’m looking forward to serving the Omaha area.”

Where she went to school:

After attending Northwest Missouri State, in Maryville, Missouri, and earning her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Staley headed to the University of Missouri, where she earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine.

What she loves outside of work:

  • Spending time with her husband and their corgi, Nash, on their farm
  • Antiquing
  • Listening to vinyl records
  • Cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals

Her favorite foods:
